What do I translate?
I usually take on projects for marketing, commercial and tourism & travel translations. But what does that mean? I localize and transcreate my clients' e-commerce pages, product description, advertising campaigns, banners, magazines, and newsletters. In the tourism sector I translate the description of destinations, itineraries, gastronomic recommendations, restaurant menus and accommodation descriptions.
I can also help you with other kinds of text, or - if what you need is not my cup of tea - I can re-address you to another professional.
How do I translate?
I work both with the most common CAT Tools and without, and I often translate directly into the system the customer uses to upload texts on-line.
Clear communication with the customer is essential to me, so if we work together I will contact you to clarify the details and concerns and I will be happy if you do the same.
Why do I translate?
When I was attending middle school, I decided that I wanted to become a translator, contributing factor were the lyrics of the songs I cut out from music magazines, glued on my notebooks and then tried to translate with the help of the dictionary. After studying English and German in high school, I completed my education by graduating at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Genoa. My university journey consolidated my conviction: I wanted to continue translating texts from the foreign language to my mother tongue giving my invisible but effective intervention. I started my career as a translator as an intern for a translation agency based in Milan, and then in 2013 my freelancer career.
